stripe hill
The morning we left Srinagar
we got up early to check out the vegetable market and went up hill to visit the temple of Shiva (i forgot the name again) and see Dal lake from top
Quite nice looking through pine trees on side hill to the Lake shining in morning light.
And we're ready to continue our long journey!
this time we got seats at the back.all things 're so amazing to my eyes.
great moutain, river, rice field, little house, army, refugee camp, sheep, goat, cow, glacier, and strange rock moutain
though we rarely have chance to shoot a photo, cause the bus always shake up and down and that's not aloud by the indian army.
in the afternoon we got into more sensitive area There are more of the Indian army and we have to get our passport checked along the way. We have a chance to get inside the tent of army! For me it’s a little bit of excitement. We got stuck cause of another car on the road, got out off a bus and sat near a cliff. Feel the greatest mountain that surround us. Start talking about what should we do if somebody point their gun at us. Should we lay down on a ground or should we run to our bus?
And again we got stuck on a narrow road up hill, there’s a car fell down from the high cliff into the mad river. And we don’t know how was people in that poor car. It’s 7 pm. In a middle of himalaya. seems like it’s going to rain. again our conversation is what if it’s raining hard it’s possible the rock might fall down to the road… to us. what should we do? sitting in a bus maybe not good choice what if there’s a bullet come from another side of mountain ..but i think jumping into the river is crazier.
An hour later our bus move again.
Finally we got to Kargil in darkness. Kargil was once under control of Pakistan. Can say that it’s the most dangerous place..and what are we doing here? It’s crazy. Bad food, bad hotel and filthy pillow. Lonely planet say it’s survivor level and it’s true. Strange that I did sleep very well maybe because I was tired.
Left Kargil early in the morning. Astonishingly Kargil from a distance is a the small town among trees, rice field, tibetan style houses, river and small islands..
..it's so perfect if without war
to be continued...
